Juniata Hardware? I'm meeting up with Nick Myers in a few weeks. He and his uncle both worked there.

Alyce, yes, we visited Chris in Texas several times.

Thanks guys for bringing up so many great memories. I worked at Juniata hardware and also worked for Ralph at C & R Caterers.
There was so much to do, never in the house...wish I could go back for one day to relive the innocence and security of the time.

Hi Margie
The older couple who owned those steps I do remember however not their names. They golfed with mr.and mrs.Riley.Gosh I was little. All those people are gone.
She gave my mom a beautiful dish and I have it now.So next to them were the bowmans then the finnegans.I remember mr.Finnegan passing away but when I don't know.Yes I remember Kathy
,Gina and beth. Where are they now?.wow!
When did you move? Did YOU KNOW Linda kolos? She is your age.She is doing well and lives in jersey.
I do remember a little in regards to the drug store being called "greenies".Herbie what ever happened to him.Did he get in trouble with the law? I had heard along time ago -possibly.
The store changed hands back in the early eighties.I remember seeing a Korean gentleman there.it was no longer a drug store.

Hi Alyce - You may not remember me as I am older. I graduated from HS in 1969. I hung out a lot with Kathy Finnegan. We has quite a few different neighbors thru the years. We had Mr. and Mrs Robson on one side and I forgot who lived on the other side but they had grey steps off their back porch that we would sit on and play on until we got chased away. I played ball more with your brother and other kids around the same age. The drug store at the end of Glendale was first called Greenies because Green was the original owner and Herbie was the next owner. Radio Ball - I loved that Cherry Ice with vanilla ice cream.

Hi Bill

Good to hear from you.
I remember almost all the kids mentioned.Mrs.Kolos who has been my mother's best friend until today told us about Claire Fox.What a shame. We were so sorry to hear that. The tribute to her is beautiful.Actually this is how I found the website.i was just looking up people and Nielson street came up.By the way where is this street? Anyway I too reflect on my life in Philly and juniata.what a great period of time.I am truly disappointed with the way things are today.
In regards to christine karvelas well guess what Chris and I have known each other since elementary school. Yes Chris and I went to Millersville.I transfered there after her Can you believe that.We even lived on the same floor in lenhardt hall.Different majors though. She I think was Special Ed. And me Art education. We have continued to be in touch.Saw her about 23 years ago when she came out with a friend.Did you know Nino as he was a friend of hers.He used to work out here for awhile. Now he is down South somewhere.Actually I think Chris came out in the early 80's too.We just talked on the phone I think around new years. She is doing well.Lives in Texas with her husband and son.Her mom is my moms age and lives with her.
How about that!Millersville was awesome. What fond memories.I ended up getting a master's in theater at Cal State Los Angeles as I had to complete my credential for the state of Calif.
So I used all my units towards a masters.Wow was that exhausting.
There were some names I didn't recognize.will get back to you on that.
Renels...Ha!Turned into a bingo hall and today who knows.Remember Robbins.I worked there for awhile.but was terminated.I don't think the owner liked me.Met alot of nice people there was a lady who worked there that had a son who was friends with Alan. Not sure of his name.
Saw pics of girls on Claire tribute.looked like Alice and Rita.I wonder...What happened to the brothers.
The morton my goodness All those kids are your age and a little younger.
They moved.what happened to Linda and Shirley smith.Did you know them. As for the conners.Mr.Hooven told me the brother older than jame stopped by and wanted to round up people for a reunion. Two of his siblings had passed away.I wonder who...
Until our next correspondence. .Alyce

Hi Alyce:

I remember Mr and Mrs Hooven very well. They were great people. Mrs Kolas was so nice. Our neighborhood group consisted of Warren Gross, Jamie Connors, Jimmy John Hooven, Ken Hesselpoth, Jimmy Kelly, Alan Kolas and sometimes his cousin Paul. I actually have photos of the crowd sitting on a wall on Glendale Street across the street fromthe Gordon's house. The gals that we sometimes hug out with were Rita and Claire Fox, Barb Deabler, Jeanie Morton, Helen Quinn. We were the crazy kids playing Bells Out and Spooks in the driveway. Syick ball did nt work so well as we usually "roofed" the ball within minutes of starting the game. I left Philly in 1984. I was married that year as well. I've lived in several places due to job transfers and promotions but I love Missouri. I fly a lot for my job. My wife and I were stranded during 911. We were in Yellowstone on that fateful day. Air Travel was curtailed for several days. I still rememner flyingback into St Louis on one of the limited flights. The planes wer parked at the gates and nobody else was on the parking shuttle. I still remember my mom sending me to CR Caterers for luncheon meat. Blasee's Bakery on Markland Street was excellent. I still remember Renells above the PennFruit. I have such good memories of the old neighborhood. I attended LaSalle. You mentioned Millersville. Did you know Dr Karvellas's daughter, Christine? She went to Millersville. Dr Karvellas was a podiatrist, who had an office on Lycoming Street between Dugan and "L" Streets.
