Nickname: “Hick”,
“Hickle”, “Hick-Man”,
“Hick Henry and the Tennessee 5”
My first nickname was “Weedle”. I don’t know
how I got that name, but I didn’t like it. I was around 5 or 6 years
old, and Bombers friends (Butch Oaks and company) used to call me Weedle until
I cried. Ha.
I’m pretty sure that Freck nicknamed me Hick. I think it had something
to do with how I laughed. Anyway, if Freck didn’t give me the name…he
made sure I kept it. I couldn’t walk around the neighborhood without
Freck yelling….”Yo, Hick Henry!”
When I’d be hanging out with friends (Dennis, Richie, Chris,….),
it would be “Yo, it’s Hick Henry and the Tennessee 5”. Anyway,
the nickname stuck just like most of them do. I wound up moving to Hanover,
PA in high school which has a lot of hicks.
I work as an IT security consultant. I’m still in the AF Reserves. I
have 3 kids (Krissy-14, Jake-11, and Sean-3). I’m currently living in
Wisconsin.
